The Florida Baptist Children’s Homes (FBCH) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that operates Foster Care, Maternity Care, and Adoption services in the Jacksonville area. In Foster Care, FBCH provides safe, stable Christian foster homes for boys and girls in Florida who have been neglected, abandoned and/or abused as well as children privately placed by their families during a state of family crisis. FBCH is ALWAYS looking for Christian families who are willing and able to open their homes to foster children in need. In Maternity Care, FBCH provides a positive alternative to adolescent girls and women experiencing an unplanned/crisis pregnancy. For a maternity client who makes an adoption plan, she is given the opportunity to select the Christian adoptive family (approved by FBCH) whom she would like to parent her infant. Some adolescent maternity clients are in need of a stable home environment during their pregnancy (and in some cases after delivery as well). Therefore, FBCH is also ALWAYS looking for Christian families who are willing and able to open their homes to adolescent maternity clients. In Adoptions, FBCH recruits, trains, and approves Christian families who are interested in building and/or increasing their families through adoption. Please note that FBCH does require that all foster and adoptive parents be Born Again Christians and that they be actively involved in a Protestant church.
